A foreign-funded enterprise shall, within 30 days after receipt of the business license, go through the procedures to obtain the “Foreign Exchange Registration Certificate for Foreign-funded Enterprises” from the Foreign Exchange Control Administration of the place where the foreign-funded enterprise if registered. The following documents shall be supplied:
- The contract and articles already effective after approval,
- Certificates of approval issued by the competent authorities after examination and verification,
- The business license (along with duplicate copy) issued by the competent authorities of Industry and Commerce Administration,

After examination and verification of documents cited above, the Foreign Exchange Control Administration shall issue the “Foreign Exchange Registration Certificate for Foreign-founded Enterprises”.
With the “Foreign Exchange Registration Certificate for Foreign-founded Enterprises”, the foreign-funded enterprises may open a foreign exchange account with a local bank authorized to undertake foreign exchange business. With the approval of the competent authorities of Foreign Exchange Control, it may also open foreign exchange accounts with banks in other parts of china or with financial organizations based abroad
